The Robin Hood's Bay Folk Club meets every Friday Evening in the big room of the Dolphin Inn, on King Street in the old village of Robin Hood's Bay, and keeps alive the local tradition of music and singing. We usually start between 8.30 and 9.00 p.m. There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE but we do have the famous EXHORBITANT RAFFLE (it's only £1 really!) which raises funds for the guest artists that are booked from time to time.
GUEST & SPECIAL NIGHTS to come in 2009 are: August 14th: The Young 'Uns September 25th: Monkey's Fist October 9th: Dave Gibb October 23rd: Dick Miles November 27th: John Kelly - the Harmonium Hero
OTHER FRIDAY NIGHTS we have Singers and Musicians Sessions, and welcome singers from near and far for an evening of singing and listening and joining in (and perhaps the odd drink or three ...)
Don't forget to buy your copy of The "Visiter Session+" CD when you visit the Club - It's only £6 - all proceeds to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution!
Since June 2004 an extra track has been added to the CD: John Wilson's haunting "Lord Ullin's Daughter" which missed the original recording for "technical reasons".
The tape and CD have so far raised: £1446 for the RNLI. You can now buy a copy of "The Visiter Session" CD ONLINE - for just £6.99 including P&P in the UK only. Please email for postage prices outside the UK
