The Robin Hood's Bay Folk Club meets every Friday Evening in the big room of the Dolphin Inn, on King Street in the old village of Robin Hood's Bay, and keeps alive the local tradition of music and singing. We usually start between 8.30 and 9.00 p.m. There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE but we do have the famous EXHORBITANT RAFFLE (it's only £1 really!) which raises funds for the guest artists that are booked from time to time.
GUEST & SPECIAL NIGHTS to come in 2008 are: May 9th: Hissyfit May 30th: Charrington & Ward June 6th: Bay Folk Weekend Club Night July 18th: Simon Hopper August 15th: Jack B Burness September 19th: Dick Miles September 26th: Monkey's Fist November 20th: Martyn Windham-Reid December 5th: Bawdy Songs and Ballads night - - Part of the Robin Hood's Bay RNLI Victorian Weekend (More details on Website)
OTHER FRIDAY NIGHTS we have Singers and Musicians Sessions, and welcome singers from near and far for an evening of singing and listening and joining in (and perhaps the odd drink or three ...)
Don't forget to buy your copy of The "Visiter Session+" CD when you visit the Club - It's only £6 - all proceeds to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution!
Since June 2004 an extra track has been added to the CD: John Wilson's haunting "Lord Ullin's Daughter" which missed the original recording for "technical reasons".
The tape and CD have so far raised: £1403 for the RNLI.
